Anita Sullivan has been a piano tuner, poet, editor, publisher
gardener, translator, birdwatcher, and lifelong student of
archaeology, folklore, and the oral tradition.
She operated her own piano tuning business for almost 30
years, tuning and repairing both modern and historic pianos.
During that time she earned an MFA in Poetry from Pacific
Lutheran University, helped found Airlie Press, was an occasional
commentator on National Public Radio's “Performance Today,”
and traveled to Greece seven times.
In addition to her books, Anita has published many essays, book
reviews and poems, both on and offline, and her work has been
widely anthologized.
Meanwhile, she still considers the wellspring of her work to be
gardening, long walks in the woods, and the rich literary arts
community of Oregon's Willamette Valley, where she lives.

"The work of poetry is to direct our attention, with words, to the place without them, so understanding can occur." ~Anita Sullivan
